CAPD/CAM Alternative

An alternative to cutting the mat board for a Mini-Me by hand is use a CAPD/CAM process. In this process the poster board is first printed by the print-and-cut equipment, then the poster board is cut out in the required shapes. While the video below shows poster board being cut, the equipment from Silhouette America can also be used to cut fabric.

The CAD files required to do this for all the patterns in Fashion & Costume Design in Quarter Scale are included on the book's website. The Studio files are designed for the print-and-cut equipment available from Silhouette America. The CAD files are also available in DXF and SVG format.
