This page describes the supplies and tools for making Body Doubles. For several techniques of creating these body doubles I will be giving you variations so you can select the procedure that is most appropriate to the resources you have available. The Supplies and Tools pdf file has images and check lists that can be used as a shopping list.
If you have any questions about the specific supplies you will need, you can always wait until the appropriate techniques are described for a given week. These supplies should be relatively easy to acquire locally.
Body Double Supplies, Part One
Basic Supplies
Pattern Paper
1 to 3 - 30" x 40" Utility or Process Board
2" Masking Tape
3/4" or 1" Masking Tape
2 - 12" x 24" Cardboard sheets
Pants Forms
2 - 1" x 4' PVC pipe (or Cardboard Tubing from a fabric store)
2 - 1/2" x 30" Iron Pipe
2 - 1/2" Iron Pipe Floor Flanges
8 - 3/4" x 8 wood screws ( 8 is the size of the screw. )
1 - 3/4" x 12" x 12" plywoond (for base)
Torso Form
Waist-to-Hip Core, Option #1: PVC Pipe
PVC Pipe Cement
1 - 1/2" x 30" x 40" Foam Core Board
1 - 1" x 12" PVC pipe
1 - 1" PVC Male Adapter
1 - 1" Iron Pipe Floor Flange
Waist-to-Hip Core, Option #2: Wood
This option requires access to basic wood working tools preferrably including a power saw.
1 - 1/2" x 24" x 48"
1 - 3/4" x 2' x 4' wood board
24 - 1 1/4" Wood Screws
Wood Glue
1 box of 3/8" upholstery tacks
Pipe Stand, Option #1: Iron Pipe
1 - 3/4" Iron Pipe ( Waist to Floor length )
