How to Make Bust Sling Bras & Variations
Bust Sling Bra ConceptThe image above shows the structural difference between a Bust Sling Bra and a Conventional Bra. The structure of this bra allows it to be supportive without an underwire. It allows the patterns for the bra to be used to create wearable garments that do not require a separate undergarment. The four sessions of this class include the following.
An Introduction The videos for this class show how to fit yourself without a sewing buddy. If you have someone to help you, the process is easier. This fitting buddy does not need to know how to sew. However, if you do not have a willing fitting buddy who will take whatever time is necessary to fit you correctly, you are better doing it yourself (DIY). To create the initial Bust Sling mold there are several techniques you can use. The primary technique I have found most efficient I learned from the women in my "How to Make Custom-Fit Bra" class. This technique uses Glad's Press'n Seal which you apply directly to the skin to shape and support the breast. You then reinforce the Press'n Seal with masking tape before removing it. The Bust Sling Overview pdf file summarizes the steps in this technique.
